Chocolate is always on my mind during the holidays. This year, I'm going to think about making the world a better place by only buying fair trade. Lake Champlain Chocolate's website explains that "through direct trade, fair prices, access to credit, and environmental stewardship, Fair Trade is designed to help farming families improve their nutrition and healthcare, keep their children in school, and re-invest in their farms."
Here are just a few things to stuff my stockings with:
Divine White Chocolate with Strawberries combines natural, creamy white chocolate with bittersweet strawberries for a perfectly romantic chocolate sensation. Divine Chocolate is a farmer-owned corporation that benefits the cocoa farmers in Ghana. This stuff just melts in my mouth!
Garuda International's Fair Trade Chocolate Sampler Gift Basket is eco-Friendly chocolaicious madness. Jump into this fair trade equivalent of spending a delectable day at the Willy Wonka candy factory. The goods are displayed upon an intricately woven fair trade palm from Uganda that serves as a basket that contains 25 different items from some very delicious choco-makers such as Dagoba, Endangered Species and Green & Black. Excuse me while I whip off my Sjaak's Dark Peanut Butter mustache to pop a few more Sweet Earth Organic chocolate covered coffee beans. My favorite kind of mocha buzz!
Not a caffeine freak, but still like your chocolate hot? Then it's time to warm some Lake Champlain Chocolate's Organic Fair Trade hot chocolate! Full-bodied, rich and smooth like grandma used to make it!
Indulge without your conscious red alert! Buy fair trade!
